I had an amazing time on the road but it is good to be back home in the mountains. The air outside is a stark contrast to the dessert. Yesterday I drove home from Las Vegas cruising into the Inyo National Forrest, experiencing the majesty of the Sierra's from the White Mountains. Beautiful! I passed through the White Mountains and took a brief tour of the ancient Bristolcone Pine Forrest, whose trees are the oldest known living trees on earth!

Back to Student Mind...
Before I left for Las Vegas I caught one more class at Exhale, Micheline Berry's Saturday morning class. one word to describe it, Awesome!

While in Las Vegas I was lucky enough to be invited to some hot yoga sadhanas at Moksha Yoga. A super fun grounding series with heat. I guess the 102 temp outside wasn't enough!

Micheline Berry - www.zendancing.com
Moksha Yoga Las Vegas - www.mokshayogalasvegas.com

Next week Lake Tahoe...

Shana Tova U'Metuka | Happy and Sweet New Year | Rosh Hashana 5770

Student Mind

I drove down to Venice on Monday and promptly went to Shiva's class in the evening. YES! Tuesday morning I went to Erich's class. Then in the evening I went to Saul's class. Sean's class tonight! I feel deep gratitude to all my teachers today.

One day later I am still feeling gratitude for my teachers. Sean's class was super fun last night. This morning I went to Erich's class and it was awesome. Four songs of free form! Kick Ass and after the meditations, PEACE is now firmly in my core and deeply resonating from my heart.

Today is the last day of a month long, new moon to new moon, Shanti (peace) Sadhana. Tomorrow, I am transitioning into a Shakti (creative) Sadhana. I woke up early and had a nice am meditation. Then I spent most morning on graphic design. When I compressed long enough, sitting etc.. I had a some of acai sorbet, did some yoga and went to play Frisbee golf to and from my way to the warming wall. I aimed to explore some volcanic rock, I had a blast and started to break in some new climbing shoes too. Later, I got cleaned up and guided a kick ass Prana Flow class at HAC. I changed the time to six o'clock and was pleased that the sun cooperated for the first setting perfectly as we came to the end of class. Then night. I went hiking up on and near the mammoth rock trail. Hiking at night is so much fun. To cap it off, star gazing and watching the moon rise. It was another magical days with my heart opening in the eastern sierra.

Peace

Namaste,

I find peace in embracing the breath. I'm at peace knowing that I am a loving, living, breathing, growing expression of infinity, the universe, god what ever you want to call it. The pulsation of inhales, pauses exhales, drinking in the inhales like a fine wine, exhaling with exhilaration, enjoying my actual now experience. Breathing like ocean waves. Finding my fluid body. Relaxing and letting go of anxieties, fears, tuning into feeling mind and releasing thinking mind. Realizing that there is only love. Understanding that everything is as it is suppose to be. We are all made of the same stuff. We all pray to the same source.

I think Rumi says it best, "Christian, Jew, Muslim, Shaman, Zoroastrian, stone, ground, mountain, river, each has a secret way of being with the mystery, unique and not to be judged."

"Here is a letter to everyone. Just as I turned the corner to the walkway of the entrance, much to my surprise there was a woman going up into Urdhva Dhanurasana. She smiled and started to struggle a bit. I said, "I am a yoga teacher, do you want an adjustment." She came down and said yes and told me her back was bothering her. I asked her to point where it was bothering her and she touched the middle of her back behind her heart. Prana yoga and a good twist will surely help this I thought. So that's just what we did. I led her into some prana yoga and guided her into Marichyasana III. then I gave her an adjustment and boom shakti the knot in her back was gone and her energy was traveling freely. She did the other side and then I guided her through some Surya Namaskars and an adjustment in Down Dog. I walked in to services feeling so blessed to be alive!

http://www.yogajournal.com/poses/473
http://www.yogajournal.com/poses/691

Infinity Shofar

Tree Of Life

May your new years be filled with sweet nuggets of joy. On Monday morning Robin facilitated a small group of us through a session. I had an amazing healing experience. After warming up a bit, the breath took over and I embodied a sweet rhythm of inhales and exhales. Expanding and contracting I eased into warm soothing thoughts of the ocean. Then my body actually became the ocean. Then I left my body-ocean and floated up and began to fly into the sun and right through its fiery center. On the other side I felt a cool blue peace. I was orbiting the moon.

http://www.bajawellness.com
http://www.transformationalbreathing.com/

Teaching is good for the teacher

Namaste

Thanks to all my teachers, especially Shiva Rea for inspiring me to live yoga 24/7 and teach Prana Flow. In my class at Downtown Yoga Circle tonight I guided the students through Mandala Namaskar 1. It was their first time. I used my ipod shuffle so the music was a bit of a surprise. But we just flowed and it was sweet to see the breath take over and freedom set in. At the end, instead of savasana they did supported suptabadakonasana for the first time too. mmmmm Bliss...

1008 aums

Global Mala

What an amazing weekend. Little though bubbles at the beginning of my meditation about waiting for KISS to come out from the dressing room backstage at the Silverdome kept floating in. Eventually KISS came out in full makeup, onto the red carpet, and only to walk up a ramp and get into the KISS VAN. Then drive it onto the stage amid a pyrotechnic spectacle of color and sound in feast of prana. I already knew that our beaches were not the cleanest and in this green age I ask the question why litter? There are trash cans everywhere on the beach. Most of what I picked up was cigarette butts and plastic bottle caps.

On Saturday I went to the same beach for a swim. As I sat down on my towel after some fun with the waves the girl sitting next to me was topless & smoking. Everyone around was having this non-verbal conversation about her baring her naked chest. Well she eventually put her top back on, got up and left, leaving an empty plastic Gatoraid bottle and three cigarette butts. When I left I picked up the bottle and walked it over to a trash can. At the trash can there was an elderly homeless looking man collecting all the recyclables.
